19th Annual Harvest Festival & Street Fair

  • Share:
Name: 19th Annual Harvest Festival & Street Fair
Date: October 7, 2011
Time: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM MDT
Event Description:

Among the many charms of a rural lifestyle is Harvest Time. This important season marks the rewards of a year of hard work preparing, planting, tending, and more tending.

Then comes the Harvest, the bounty, the reward of months of toil. Harvest is celebrated when the region's crops come in. There is feasting drawn form the crops of the season and a sense of relief, relaxation and lots of social gathering to share in the delights of another year's accomplishment.

Emmett's Harvest Festival Street Fair is a county-wide, hometown celebration in true old-fashioned style.

Held annually on the first Friday and Saturday of October, Emmett has invited friends and family to join in their Harvest celebration since the first farmers came to the Valley of Plenty.

In 1992, a group of local businesses and community organizers got together to create the first official Emmett Harvest Festival Street Fair. Every year, more community groups join in making this one of Emmett's largest events.

Historic Downtown Emmett is transformed as Main Street is closed off to traffic. Arts, Crafts and Food Vendors line the street with their Harvest-themed booths full of unusual, one-of-a-kind and seasonal delights. Delicious aromas fill the air tempting the senses to try a BBQ sandwich, freshly prepared scone, carmel apple or hot-off-the-grill burger.

Merchants in the downtown spill their wares on to the sidewalks with terrific sales and specials. Festival-goers are welcomed in to thier shops to peruse and discover even more treasures through every door.

Local Entertainers hit the center stage at E. Main Street & Washington Ave adding to the festive atmosphere. Watch dance groups, listen to talened musicians and catch the Kid's Costume Parade among two day line-up. Enjoy Cowboy Poetry and Rock-n-Roll all in one place.

Kids Free Activities abound at the Harvest Festival Street Fair.
